A couple months ago, my friend Val told me about an organization she and some friends were starting, I immediately wanted to get involved. They started a program called SoCal Hearts (http://socalhearts.bbnow.org/) and by teaming up with the High Desert Foster Families Association of North America, they threw a holiday party for some special children in the Los Angeles area. In talking about the idea, they said, "Our hope is that each child will unwrap something they really need AND something they really want!" 

And that's exactly what they did! It was an awesome afternoon at the Hollywood YMCA filled with good food, sweet presents and happy kids.

It reminded me to be a little more thankful, think about how good it feels to see a child with joy on their face, and that warming up the corner of our world can go along way. Thanks to Val for inviting me to be apart of this amazing day. They are going to continue to grow and warm up one little corner of LA. 

SoCal Hearts is going to continue to make moves in the community and I couldn't be more excited to be apart of it. Happy Holidays!
